Tips and destinations

On our Youtube channel you can see a slideshow from Grövelsjön, Vildmarksvägen, Tiveden and Skuleskogen!

Tiveden National Park

Tiveden is a beautiful forest that is suitable for a short or long weekend trip. There are both long and short tours and several shelters to rest in.

Park your motorhome overnight at Ösjönäs camping or at one of the nice pitches in the area.

Vildmarksvägen - mountain hiking on wheels

A classic tour on Sweden's highest road. In one week you can see the highlights! Start in Strömsund or Vilhelmina. The Stekenjokk plateau is open to car traffic from June 6 - October 15.

Gyllbergen nature reserve

A place for all seasons but especially in winter! Fantastic and varied cross-country ski trails in the middle of the forest in Dalarna. During weekends in spring winter, the parking lot can be full, but make sure to come already on Friday so there is plenty of room for a motorhome.

There are outhouses and garbage collection but no electricity, so rent a generator and bring it just in case.

Stråtjära bathing area

One of our absolute favorite places! Swim, barbecue, chill out and go for a forest walk!

Pay a small fee to the caretaker who lives (permanently?) in his caravan in a corner of the site and stay a few days!

Orbaden - the Hälsingland Riviera

An incredibly lovely and shallow sandy beach on a nice campsite. Stay one night when you are passing through or stay several days and experience the tranquility!

Grövelsjön - easily accessible mountain

Best for a week but works for a long weekend. Camp at Sjöstugan on the shore of Lake Grövelsjön. Sauna included in the camping fee!

What to do:

  • Hike to Silverfallet via Olåns wind shelter, about 7 km round trip.
  • Take a trip to the Mountain Station about 2 km round trip. There you can have a good three-course dinner and get lots of mountain inspiration.
  • Grill sausages in the windbreak on the shore of Lake Grövelsjön

Skuleskogen/High Coast

Skuleskogen National Park has three entrances where you can park a motorhome.

One of the highlights is the Slåttdalsskrevan, which was used to create the Hellmouth in parts of the Ronja Rövardotter movie.
